+HIRS+ Collection Update Part 3

Seems to be an annual thing for me to post the gradual increase in mass of my +HIRS+ collection. The ladies just don't stop, and it's sometimes quite difficult to keep up with them. Don't think I need to go in deep why I like this band, I've praised them countless times on this and other blogs. Satanic and queer as fuck drum machine grindcore at some of it's very best. As you can see (if you cared to look) my collection has grown quite a bit, and to date I am only missing one item to be complete. Here's the whole lot.

Breaking it down now, here are the tapes:

My Extortion Collection

Yeah, it's pretty small compared to my other hardcore vinyl blogger colleges. But you know me, I don't go after every variant. I'm obviously still missing the Demo 7", the "Get Fucked" 5", and the "Terminal Cancer" 7". Hopefully I'll get those soon!

Two New +HIRS+ Additions

I recently added two new loose ends to my +HIRS+ collection, now making me complete. For now. These were released for their Australian tour, in very limited runs. First, here's their split with Australian natives(and tour mates), Shitweather. 1-sided 7", black vinyl, 33 RPM, limited to 150.

Originally, this was going to be a flexi disc. But thankfully, it was upgraded to a solid vinyl record thanks to some help from One Brick Today records. Shitweather are first, dishing out 3 tracks of grimy, distorted, raw grindviolence. If you liked their demo tape, you should dig these tracks. It's very chaotic sounding stuff, everything is just covered in distortion. The +HIRS+ tracks are pretty sweet; very short songs with good riffs and some nice occasional groove. I'd say that the Shitweater "side" sticks with me more, but probably because it lasts longer. Good split overall though.

Pretty simple packaging, and mine's printed on pink paper. I've seen others on white, and I'm not sure how many were printed on either colors/

Next is a compilation tape called "Gaytheism", also limited to 150 copies. There was no real reason for me to get this other than the fact that I made the choice to get every +HIRS+ release. This compiles their first 69 tracks (oooh, I get it), and has one exclusive track. Nice presentation overall, but atrociously bad dubbing. Piss poor job. I like the artwork though.

Here's my updated collection.

+HIRS+ Collection

I love these guys, every time I order from them they just absolutely spoil me. My most recent order I made, I expected to only get their split 7" with Maradona and a couple split tapes. But they sent me the repress of "Worship", and all the cassettes they have released! What great guys. Here's my collection as it stands now, I only need the split with Shit Weather and the "Gaytheism" compilation cassette and I'll be all caught up. They also have a shirt that I want. I may break my rule of not collecting all the color variants with this band, since I have the 2nd press of "Worship" as well as the first, and I feel good having both. Listen to this band or be eternally lame!
From left to right:
  • split flexi postcard w/ Towers
  • "Worship" 1-sided 7" (first press /120)
  • "Dimebag" 5 1/2" square lathe record (/20)
  • "Worship" 1-sided 7" (2nd press, #3/69)
  • "Vaygaytion/Gaycation" 4" lathe record (/20)
  • "Involuntary Split" w/The Immaculates ("Worship" test pressing #5/5)
  • Split 7" w/ Maradona
  • "Nunmilk" Cassette (/100)
  • Split cassette w/ Hulk Smash
  • Split cassette w/ Drums Like Machine Guns
  • Split cassette w/ Tooth Decay
  • Split cassette w/ Nimbus Terrifix

Defeatist Collection

I recently completed my Defeatist collection(excluding the "Sharp Blades Sinks Deep..." compilation CD. I got all the 7", no point in buying it.) They were an awesome kinda-techgrind band from NYC, and they sadly broke up last year. I got to to play a show with these guys a few years ago, Psychic Limb were also on the bill. An unrelenting live band, non-stop aggression. Here are all their records, and again, I don't go out to collect all the color variants.

From left to right:
  • "Sixth Extinction" CD (hasn't gotten a vinyl release)
  • "Tyranny of Decay" 12" (limited to 250 copies)
  • "Thanatonic State" 7"
  • "In Praise of False Hope" 7"
  • 3-way 12" split w/ ASRA and Triac
  • split 7" w/ Kursk

My Hummingbird Of Death Collection

Hummingbird of Death are one of my favorite fastcore bands, and I'm proud to say that I own almost all of their releases. Not counting compilations, I'm only missing their floppy disc single, which I've been putting off getting for obvious reasons. Now, I'm not someone who tries to get every color variant/cover variant of a record to try and make an artist collection bigger, I'm just interested in getting the music. I do care about getting the rarest variant, but I can make do with not having it. All of these records are 1st presses, as far as I know.

From left to right:

  • split 12" w/ I Accuse (black vinyl)
  • split 10" w/ Chainsaw To The Face (black vinyl)
  • "Show Us The Meaning Of Haste" 12" (light blue marble vinyl)
  • "Goatmeal" 5" (black vinyl)
  • split 6" w/ Sidetracked (black vinyl)
  • split 7" w/ Dead Stare (black vinyl)
  • "Demo" cassette
  • split cassette w/ Pile Of Infested Maggot Viscera
  • "Diagnosis: Delicious" 7" (black vinyl)
  • split 12" w/ Titanarum (transparent red vinyl)
